Fished with Eric Davis today and went to a very respectable flat to find no fish in St Simons Island. We looked everywhere. Anyway we moved to find lots of fish at another place and what was cool were that the redfish were among there fellow brothers the black drum. I never have caught a black drum on the fly so I tied on a fly I thought they would eat and we waited. As the school approached we made several cast but had no takes. Then as the fish spooked away on found my fly. Later on in the afternoon Eric landed a nice 10+ pound redfish and we called it a day. We spent over an hour trying to catch those black drum and ran out of tide. Oh well we can catch redfish most any day but black drum are a special treat especially when it was my first on fly.
