Well we’re finally back from our fly fishing trip out west.  We ended up fishing several different streams and rivers throughout Wyoming and Montana.  The trip was all about adapting our fly fishing tactics to ensure successful fishing.  I’ll never make the mistake again to only pack dries for the majority of my flies.  We’ve been traveling out there every year for quite a while now, and generally we never even have to break out our nymph or streamer boxes.  This trip, however, proved otherwise with high water conditions on almost every stream and river we wet a boot in.  The heavy rains the week before and unusually warm temperatures had runoff pumping huge amounts of water into the watersheds.

Despite our hardships Brad Wayne, Louis Cahill, and I did overcome the tough fishing conditions on our trip, and we all landed some dandy trout.  Our biggest trout landed was a CutBow that measured 24 inches, and our biggest brown trout measured 22 inches.  Louis Cahill documented the trip capturing around 65 gigabytes of photos.  We’ll be posting photos when he gets them edited.  We’ve decided to post a series on the blog for each fishing day of the trip.  We welcome you to comment and check them out as we put them up over the next couple of weeks.

I’ll be adding some fishing stories as well as some hilarious situations we encountered during our travels.  All I can say for now is “Don’t ever count out Georgia Boys”
