Date: July 31st, 2009
Name: Lake Baccarac
Date Fished: July 25th - 27th
Comments: Yes, it was hot and yes, it was rainy...an excellent recipe for the huge Baccarac bass to be shallow. It happens at the same time every season. Our four recent guests just crushed the big bass, with a total of 27 fish over 10 lbs., two of those black bass being over 14 lbs. All of the big largemouth were caught on Magnum watermelon seed lizards. It was reported that in the late afternoon, you could actually see the monsters right against the bank looking for food as the water was rising. When the big bass stopped biting and moved off to the points, throwing big Bill Dance crankbaits led to reports of catching fish after fish. If you can stand the heat and you want to get away for a few days, you should really try some of this summertime fishing.
