SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (7/24/2006)
Two recently renovated lakes will re-open to fishing at the McDuffie Public Fishing Area (PFA) on Saturday, July 29, 2006, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD). These lakes join four other PFA lakes that currently are open, and will remain open. These six lakes range in size from 8 acres to 37 acres and provide fishing for such species as largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish and channel catfish.“In order to best manage the fish populations within these lakes that are set to re-open, WRD is setting a few limitations on only these two lakes,” says Ed Bettross, WRD Fisheries Biologist. “Fishing will only be allowed on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays of each week and on the larger of the two lakes, there will be no bass harvest allowed.”
