I hit Lake Nottely the other day with Eric Welch and Louis Cahill to chase down some striper and hybrid bass. We fished conventional gear as well as fly rods and we had an awesome time bending the rods. We didn’t get any big boys but we did tear them up pretty good. Some days the big boys just don’t come up, but there’s one thing for sure, we’ll be heading back to Lake Nottely very soon for another opportunity to hook into a 25 plus pound striper.

It is such a cool feeling to have the bass coming up all around the boat busting the surface. It’s a real adrenaline rush that never gets old. I wish it was something I could experience everyday with my buddies.

Next time I hit the lake I’ll be bringing my fly line basket to manage the line. There is nothing worse then stepping on your fly line on the presentation cast when there are fish busting right out in front of you. It’s not cool at all

There’s a reason why many bass fishermen say the fall is their favorite time to hit the lake. Big bass as well as big numbers are the norm if stay on the fish, and catching fish on topwater, well, there isn’t a more fun way to fish in my opinion.

If your interested in going on a bass fishing trip on Lake Nottely or any of our other lakes please give us a call. This is a great time to get your line stretched.
